Es war für uns erneut eine grosse Freude, am letzten Samstag die fröhliche Schar unserer Patenmädchen am Hauptsitz von ENKAINA-E-RETOTO in Loiborsoit zum alljährlichen Kinderfest begrüssen zu dürfen. Dieses Kinderfest wird wie üblich vor dem Schuljahreswechsel organsiert. Die über 50 Patenmädchen wurden meist von ihren Müttern und/oder Vätern zum Fest begleitet. Für alle wurde ein traditionelles Reisgericht mit Ziegenfleisch zubereitet und genügend Soda-Getränke bereitgestellt. Nebst Unterrichtsmaterial wie Schreibzeug und Hefte, erhielt jedes Patenkind ebenfalls ein kleines Geschenk mit nützlichen Hygiene- sowie anderen Alltagsartikeln. Die junge Massaifrau Nengajiang, welche sich als Projektkoordinatorin bereits seit einigen Jahren um die persönliche Betreuung der Patenmädchen auf der Sekundar- und Universitätsstufe kümmert, war selbstverständlich auch vor Ort und engagierte sich zusammen mit Lengai S. und einem kleinen Besucherteam von ENKAINA-E-RETOTO mit Anne R. und Markus H. damit alle geplanten Aktivitäten inkl. einer kleinen Show zur Unterhaltung der Kinder, möglichst reibungslos durchgeführt werden konnten. Es musste genügend Zeit eingeplant werden, damit für jedes einzelne Patenkind eine persönliche Befragung zur allgemeinem sowie schulischen Situation möglich war. Erfreulicherweise haben dieses Jahr wieder einige Patenmädchen auf der 7. Primarstufe den Übertritt auf eine Sekundarstufe geschafft. Zudem haben wir ein weiteres Massaimädchen, welches ebenfalls den Übertritt auf die 1. Sekundarstufe schaffte in das Sponsorship-Programm aufgenommen. Für die meisten dieser Patenkinder konnte ein Ausbildungsplatz an der nahegelegenen Sekundarschule in Emboret gefunden werden. Für die anderen jüngeren Patenmädchen auf der Primarstufe werden in den nächsten Tagen mit Unterstützung durch Lengai S. wie gewohnt auf den lokalen Märkten neue Schulkleider und Schuhe besorgt, bevor die Primarschulen im Simanjiro-Distrikt am Montag, 17. Januar mit dem Unterricht im neunen Schuljahr starten. Für alle Patenmädchen, welche den Übertritt auf die Sekundarstufe nicht schafften, werden wir in den nächsten Tagen nähere Abklärungen machen und uns u.a. an einer nahegelegenen Handwerksschule erkundigen, in welcher ab diesem Jahr auch Ausbildungsplätze für junge Mädchen (im Bereich Hauswirtschaft) angeboten werden. Auch dieses Jahr gibt es eine Schar von über 20 Massaimädchen auf der 1. und 2. Primarstufe, welche gerne in unser Patenschaftsprojekt aufgenommen werden möchten. Aus organisatorischen und finanziellen Gründen, müssen wir uns zeitgleich auf mehr oder weniger 50 persönliche Patenschaften beschränken. Wir werden jedoch innerhalb des Vereinsvorstandes über weitere Formen der Unterstützung von Schulmädchen auf der Primarstufe diskutieren und angesichts der momentanen Dürre und Hungersituation vor allem auch wieder entsprechende Food-Programme für die 7 Primarschulen auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Loiborsoit lancieren…
Celebrating with our sponsored girls
It was again a great pleasure for us to welcome the happy group of our sponsored girls for the annual children’s party at the headquarters of ENKAINA-E-RETOTO in Loiborsoit last Saturday. As usual, this children’s party is organised before the beginning of the new school year. The more than 50 sponsored girls were mostly accompanied by their mothers and/or fathers to the festivities. A traditional rice dish with goat meat was prepared for everyone and enough soda drinks were provided. Each sponsored child received in addition to educational material such as writing materials and notebooks also a small gift with useful hygiene and other everyday items. The young Maasai woman Nengajiang, who as project coordinator has been taking care of the personal care of the sponsored girls at secondary and university level for several years, was of course also on site. She was engaged together with Lengai S. and a small team of visitors from ENKAINA-E-RETOTO with Anne R. and Markus H. so that all the planned activities, including a small show to entertain the children, could be carried out as smoothly as possible. Sufficient time had to be planned so that each individual sponsored child could be personally interviewed about her situation in general and at school. We are happy to report that some of the sponsored girls in Primary 7 were able to transfer to secondary school this year. In addition, we have taken another Maasai girl into the sponsorship programme, who also made the transition to the 1st secondary level. An education place could be found at the nearby secondary school in Emboret for most of these sponsored children. Before the primary schools in Simanjiro District start classes for the new school year on Monday, 17 January, new school clothes and shoes for the other younger sponsored girls at primary level will be bought as usual at the local markets in the next few days with the support of Lengai S. For all sponsored girls who did not make it to secondary school, we will make more detailed enquiries in the next few days, for example at a nearby vocational school, which will also offer apprenticeships for young girls (in home economics) from this year on. Also this year, there is a group of more than 20 Maasai girls at primary level at first and second primary level who would like to be included in our sponsorship project. For organisational and financial reasons, we have to limit ourselves to more or less 50 personal sponsorships at the same time.
Kusherehekea na wasichana wetu wanofadhiliwa
Ilikuwa furaha kubwa kwetu kukaribisha kikundi chenye furaha cha wasichana wetu waliofadhiliwa kwenye sherehe ya watoto ya kila mwaka katika makao makuu ya ENKAINA-E-RETOTO huko Loiborsoit Jumamosi iliyopita. Kama kawaida, sherehe hii ya watoto hupangwa kabla ya mwanzo wa mwaka mpya wa masomo. Wasichana zaidi ya 50 waliofadhiliwa waliongozana zaidi na mama zao na/au baba zao kwenye sherehe hizo. Chakula cha asili ambacho wali na nyama ya mbuzi kiliandaliwa kwa ajili ya kila mtu na vinywaji vya kutosha vilitolewa. Kila mtoto aliyefadhiliwa alipokea vifaa vya shule kama vile kalamu na madaftari pia zawadi ndogo za kumsaidia usafi muhimu na vifaa vingine vya kila siku. Binti Kimasai Nengajiang ambaye kama mratibu wa mradi amekuwa akishughulikia matunzo binafsi ya wasichana waliofadhiliwa katika kiwango cha sekondari na chuo kikuu kwa miaka kadhaa, bila shaka naye pia alihudhuria kwenye sherehe hii muhimu.akiwashirikisha Lengai S. na timu ndogo ya wageni kutoka ENKAINA-E-RETOTO, Anne R. na Markus H kuandaa Shughuli ya sherehe zifanyike kama zilizopangwa na kuhusisha onyesho dogo la kuwaburudisha watoto, lifanyike kwa urahisi iwezekanavyo. Muda wa kutosha ulipaswa kupangwa ili kila mtoto anayefadhiliwa aweze kuhojiwa kibinafsi kuhusu hali yake kwa ujumla na shuleni. Tuna furaha kuripoti kwamba baadhi ya wasichana waliofadhiliwa wa darasa la 7 waliweza kwenda sekondari mwaka huu. Zaidi ya hayo, tumempeleka msichana mwingine wa Kimaasai katika mpango wa ufadhili, ambaye pia alifanya mabadiliko hadi kidato cha kwanza katika ngazi ya sekondari.shule ya sekondari huko Emboret imepokea watoto wengi waliofadhiliwa. Kabla ya shule za msingi katika Wilaya ya Simanjiro kuanza masomo kwa mwaka mpya wa masomo Jumatatu, Januari 17, nguo mpya za shule na viatu vya wasichana wengine waliofadhiliwa katika ngazi ya msingi vitanunuliwa kama kawaida katika masoko ya yanayopatikana hapa kijijini siku chache zijazo. Kwa usaidizi wa Lengai S. wasichana wote waliofadhiliwa ambao hawakufaulu kuingia sekondari, tutafanya uchunguzi wa kina zaidi katika siku chache zijazo, kwa mfano kama wataweza kujiunga katika shule ya ufundi iliyo jirani ambayo pia inatoa mafunzo kwa wasichana wadogo mfano ujasiriamali n.k. kuanzia mwaka huu. Pia mwaka huu, kuna kundi la wasichana zaidi ya 20 wa Kimasai katika ngazi ya msingi katika ngazi ya chekechea na msingi ambao wangependa kujumuishwa katika mradi wetu wa udhamini. Kutokana na hali ya kifedha, tunapaswa kujiwekea kikomo kwa ufadhili watoto 50 au chini yake kwa wakati mmoja…
