Christmas campaign 2022 – in teamwork with Kalanga from Loiborsoit

Es ist für uns eine besondere Freude, dass zurzeit unserer langjähriger Massaifreund Kalanga Lukumay (Betreuer unseres Gästehauses in Loiborsoit) im Rahmen einer privaten Einladung wieder einmal in der Schweiz zu Besuch ist. So konnten wir bei den Vorbereitungen für die diesjährige Weihnachtsaktion auch auf die tatkräftige Mithilfe von Kalanga zählen. Denn wie jedes Jahr haben wir im November eine kleine Weihnachtsaktion zugunsten unserer laufenden Projekte im Massailand lanciert. In Teamarbeit mit Kalanga konnten wir über 200 Geschenksets mit Bezug zur Massaikultur vorbereiten. Dieses Jahr enthält jedes Geschenkset eine Packung (à ca. 120g) gebrannte Mandeln mit Oloisuki-Gewürz sowie eine Packung (à ca. 100g) Lebkuchengebäck (Läckerli) mit Oloisuki-Gewürz-Ummantelung. Die Bio-Mandelkerne wurden in aufwendiger Handarbeit in einem speziellen Kupferkessel auf einem Gasherd geröstet. Auch der Lebkuchenteig wurde grösstenteils aus hochwertigen Lebensmitteln mit Bio Lables sowie echtem Bienenhonig aus dem Massailand (Wildhonigprodukt der OSILIGI-Frauen aus Loiborsoit) zubereitet und mit Hilfe einer professionellen Teigwalze in der kleinen Hauskonditorei von Nelly Burri in Gossau SG (www.nellys-huuskonditorei.ch) zubereitet und zum Backen vorbereitet. Nach einer kurzen Backzeit wurden die Gebäcke mit einem Oloisuki-Sirup bestrichen und nach dem Auskühlen in gewünschte Einzelstücke geschnitten. In liebvoller Handarbeit wurden diese Leckereien später in erneuter Teamarbeit mit Kalanga und weiteren helfenden Händen aus dem Freundeskreis des Vereins, als kleine Geschenksets verpackt. Wir sind uns sicher, dass diese speziellen Sets in der nahenden Weihnachtszeit als Gaumenfreude oder als ideale Geschenkidee zum Weiterschenken entsprechenden Anklang finden werden. Christmas campaign 2022 – in teamwork with Kalanga from Loiborsoit
It is a particular pleasure for us that our longtime Maasai friend Kalanga Lukumay (supervisor of our guest house in Loiborsoit) is currently visiting Switzerland as part of a private invitation. We were able to count on Kalanga’s energetic help in the preparations for this year’s Christmas campaign. Because, like every year, we launched a small Christmas campaign in favor of our ongoing projects in Maasailand in November. In teamwork with Kalanga we were able to prepare over 200 gift sets related to Maasai culture. This year, each gift set contains a pack (approx. 120g each) of roasted almonds with oloisuki spice and a pack (approx. 100g each) of gingerbread biscuits (Läckerli) coated with oloisuki spice. The organic almonds were roasted by hand in a special copper kettle on a gas stove. The gingerbread dough was also largely made from high-quality food with organic labels and honey from Maasailand (wild honey product made by the OSILIGI women from Loiborsoit). A professional dough roller in Nelly Burri’s small in-house confectionery in Gossau SG (www.nellys-huuskonditorei.ch) was used for the preparation of the baking. After a short baking time, the pastries were coated with Oloisuki syrup and, after cooling down, cut into desired individual pieces. These delicacies were later hand-wrapped as small gift sets in teamwork with Kalanga and other helping hands from the association’s circle of friends. We are sure that these special sets will be well received as the Christmas season approaches, as a treat for the palate or as an ideal gift idea to give away. Kampeni ya Krismasi 2022 – katika kazi ya pamoja na Kalanga kutoka Loiborsoit
Ni furaha sana kwetu kwamba rafiki yetu wa muda mrefu wa Kimasai Kalanga Lukumay (msimamizi wa nyumba yetu ya wageni huko Loiborsoit) kwa sasa anatembelea Uswizi kama sehemu ya mwaliko wa kibinafsi. Tuliweza kutegemea msaada mkubwa wa Kalanga katika maandalizi ya kampeni ya Krismasi ya mwaka huu. Kwa sababu, kama kila mwaka, tulizindua kampeni ndogo ya Krismasi kwa ajili ya miradi yetu inayoendelea Maasailand mnamo Novemba. Katika kazi ya pamoja na Kalanga tuliweza kuandaa seti zaidi ya 200 za zawadi zinazohusiana na utamaduni wa Kimasai. Mwaka huu, kila seti ya zawadi ina pakiti (takriban 120g kila moja) ya mlozi uliochomwa na viungo vya oloisuki na pakiti (takriban 100g kila moja) ya biskuti za mkate wa tangawizi (Läckerli) iliyopakwa viungo vya oloisuki. Lozi za kikaboni zilichomwa kwa mkono katika kettle maalum ya shaba kwenye jiko la gesi. Unga wa mkate wa tangawizi pia ulitengenezwa kwa kiasi kikubwa kutokana na chakula cha hali ya juu chenye lebo za kikaboni na asali kutoka Maasailand (bidhaa ya asali ya mwitu iliyotengenezwa na wanawake wa OSILIGI kutoka Loiborsoit). Rola ya kitaalamu ya kutengeneza unga katika kiwanda kidogo cha ndani cha Nelly Burri huko Gossau SG (www.nellys-huuskonditorei.ch) ilitumika kwa utayarishaji wa kuoka. Baada ya muda mfupi wa kuoka, keki zilipakwa syrup ya Oloisuki na, baada ya kupoa, kata vipande vipande unavyotaka. Vitamu hivi baadaye vilifungwa kwa mkono kama zawadi ndogo kwa kazi ya pamoja na Kalanga na mikono mingine ya usaidizi kutoka kwa kundi la marafiki wa chama. Tuna hakika kwamba seti hizi maalum zitapokelewa vyema msimu wa Krismasi unapokaribia, kama kitoweo cha kupendeza au kama wazo bora la kutoa zawadi. Seti za zawadi kwa CHF 20.00 zinapatikana hapa kwa muda mfupi kupitia agizo la mtandaoni.
