School desks from the craft school for Lemooti, Mbuko and Nyorrit

Seit diesem Jahr lässt unser Verein alle für die Schulprojekte eingeplanten Schulzimmermöbel lokal an der VETA-Handwerksschule in Loiborsoit produzieren. Mit Beginn des neuen Schulsemesters konnten diese Woche wieder 20 Schulbänke für die erst vor Kurzem fertiggestellten Klassenzimmer an der Primarschule in Lemooti ausgeliefert werden. Die Schulkinder und Lehrpersonen waren sichtlich erfreut, dass ihre Schule im Rahmen der schon länger geplanten gemeinnützigen Projekte 2022/23 erneut berücksichtigt werden konnte. Zuvor mussten sich bisher oft 3 oder manchmal sogar 4 Schulkinder eine für 2 Kinder ausgelegte Schulbank teilen. Mit der Lieferung der Schulbänke kann diesem Problem, welches an vielen Schulen in entlegenen Gebieten im Massailand herrscht, etwas entgegengewirkt werden. Wenn genügend Sitz- und Schreibplätze vorhanden sind, können sich die Schulkinder viel besser auf den Unterricht konzentrieren. Zudem haben die lokal an der VETA-Handwerksschule als hochwertige Holz-Metallkonstruktion produzierten Schulbänke einen vielfachen Nutzen für die fernab von der Stadt Arusha liegenden Gebiete im Massailand. Die Produktion der Schulbänke an der Handwerkschule trägt nicht nur dazu bei, den Bedarf an Schulmöbel in abgelegen Gegenden zu decken, sondern bietet zugleich für Handwerksschüler eine ideale Möglichkeit praktische Fähigkeiten für die spätere Ausübung eines Berufes zu erlernen. Bei der Produktion lernen die Schüler, wie man Holz bearbeitet, Metall schweisst und dann als Möbel zusammenbauen kann. Solche Berufsfähigkeiten sind überall in Tansania sehr gefragt. Neben einem finanziellen Anreiz kann diese Schulmöbelproduktion auch eine Reihe weiterer Vorteile für die Handwerksschule bedeuten und insgesamt zur Entwicklung der lokalen Wirtschaft beitragen. Die vor Ort fertig zusammengebauten Schulbänke wurden auf der Ladefläche eines Anhängers mit einem Traktor an die über 30 Kilometer von der VETA-Handwerksschule entfernten Schule in Lemooti. Weitere, bereits im Juni bestellte Schulbänke sollen nach den Semesterferien von den motivierten Schülern an der VETA demnächst fertiggestellt und dann voraussichtlich Ende Juli oder Anfang August für weitere neu erstellte Klassenzimmer in Mbuko und/oder in Nyorrit abgegeben werden können. In diesem Sinne leistet das Schulzimmermöbel-Projekt einen sehr wichtigen Beitrag sowohl für die VETA-Handwerksschule als auch für die Primarschulen im Massailand. Since this year, our association has had all the classroom furniture for the school projects produced locally at the VETA craft school in Loiborsoit. With the start of the new school semester, 20 school benches for the recently completed classrooms at the primary school in Lemooti were delivered this week. The school children and teachers were visibly pleased that their school was once again included in the 2022/23 non-profit projects. Previously, 3 or sometimes even 4 school children often had to share a school desk designed for 2 children. With the delivery of the school benches, this problem, which prevails at many schools in remote areas in Maasailand, can be counteracted. If there is enough seating and writing space, the school children can concentrate much better on the lessons. In addition, the school benches produced locally at the VETA craft school as a high-quality wood-metal construction have multiple uses for the areas in Maasailand far away from the city of Arusha. The production of the school benches at the craft school not only helps to meet the need for school furniture in remote areas, but also offers craft students an ideal opportunity to get skilled for later practicing a profession. During production, the students learn how to work wood, weld metal and then assemble the parts as furniture. Such professional skills are in high demand throughout Tanzania. In addition to a financial incentive, this school furniture production can also mean a number of other benefits for the craft school and contribute to the overall development of the local economy. The school desks were transported on the back of a trailer by tractor to the school in Lemooti, which is over 30 kilometers from the VETA craft school. More school desks, already ordered in June, should soon be completed by the motivated students at VETA after the semester break and then probably be handed over at the end of July or beginning of August for further newly built classrooms in Mbuko and/or in Nyorrit. In this sense, the classroom furniture project makes a very important contribution both to the VETA craft school and to the primary schools in Maasailand.
