Vergangene Woche konnte erneut eine grössere Anzahl Schulbänke, welche an der VETA-Handwerksschule produziert wurden, abgeholt und an die Primarschule in Mbuko ausgeliefert werden. Mit dieser Lieferung konnte das dritte und zugleich letzte Teilprojekt der gemeinnützigen Projekte 2022/23 (1. Teil) abgeschlossen werden. Einen entsprechenden Abschlussbericht werden wir voraussichtlich im Oktober für die Projektunterstützenden ausstellen können. Dieses Teilprojekt zur Beschaffung von Schulzimmermöbel und Installation von Wassertanks konnte nicht nur bei der Betreibung von Schulküchen oder hinsichtlich akutem Mangel an Schulbänken an der Schule in Mbuko und an anderen Primarschulen auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Loiborsoit sehr behilflich sein, sondern indirekt auch die VETA-Handwerksschule in vielen Belangen unterstützen. Ausserdem konnte innerhalb der gemeinnützigen Projekte 2022/23 (2. Teil) in diesem Jahr in einem weiteren Teilprojekt einige Ausbildungsplätze für diverse Primar- und Sekundarschulabgänger an der dieser Schule mitfinanziert werden. Im Vergleich zu den Vorjahren haben wir im laufenden Jahr bis jetzt leider nur wenige Spenden für gemeinnützige Projekte erhalten. Wir werden daher im Jahr 2024 die Schulbau- und Wasserprojekte auf dem Gemeindegebiet Loiborsoit voraussichtlich nur in sehr begrenztem Umfang unterstützen können, obschon seitens Simanjiro-Distriktregierung und der Bevölkerung immer wieder entsprechende Anfragen an uns gelangen. Aufgrund der finanziellen Lage hat der Vereinsvorstand an einer Sitzung im Juli erneut eine Priorisierung der Projektthemen vorgenommen. Es wurde entschieden, dass wir 2024 mit den zur Verfügung stehenden allgemeinen Spenden vor allem die Frauenprojekte und im Bereich Schulbildung die VETA-Handwerkschule bei der Beschaffung von Ausstattung für die Ausbildungsplätze unterstützen werden. Die VETA-Schulleitung hat uns bereits eine Liste mit dringend benötigten Gerätschaften zukommen lassen. Nach Rücksprache mit der Upendo Society Germany (Hauptsponsor der VETA-Handwerksschule) und der Simanjiro-Distriktregierung werden wir gegen Ende Jahr einen ersten Entwurf zur Projektkonzeption ausarbeiten und dann auf unserer Homepage aufschalten. An dieser Stelle möchten wir uns im Namen der Massai aus Loiborsoit ganz herzlich bei unserem Hauptsponsor für gemeinnützige Projekte und allen weiteren Projektunterstützenden bedanken. VETA craft school and project planning 2024
Last week, a large number of school desks that were produced at the VETA craft school were picked up and delivered to the primary school in Mbuko. With this delivery, the third and last sub-project of the non-profit projects 2022/23 (part 1) was completed. We will probably be able to issue a corresponding final report to those supporting the project in October. This sub-project for the procurement of school room furniture and the installation of water tanks was very helpful for the operation of school kitchens and to reduce the acute shortage of school desks at the school in Mbuko and at other primary schools in the municipality of Loiborsoit. It also contributed indirectly to support the VETA- craft school in many aspects. In addition, as part of the non-profit projects 2022/23 (2nd part), within a further sub-project it was possible to co-finance several training places for various primary and secondary school leavers at this school. Compared to previous years, we have unfortunately only received a few donations for charitable projects this year up to now. We will therefore probably only be able to support the school construction and water projects in the Loiborsoit municipality in 2024 to a very limited extent, although we continue to receive corresponding requests from the Simanjiro district government and the population. Due to the financial situation, the association’s board again prioritized the project topics at a meeting in July. It was decided that in 2024 we will use the general donations available to support the women’s projects in particular and, in the area of school education, the VETA craft school to procure equipment for the training places. The VETA school management has already sent us a list of urgently needed equipment. After consultation with the Upendo Society Germany (main sponsor of the VETA craft school) and the Simanjiro district government, we will develop a first draft of the project concept towards the end of the year and then publish it on our homepage. At this point, on behalf of the Maasai from Loiborsoit, we would like to thank our main sponsor for charitable projects and all other project supporters.
