Construction work on the new cistern in Nyorrit is progressing well

Kürzlich konnten Lengai S. und Markus H. von ENKAINA-E-RETOTO erneut die Bauarbeiten am Brunnen in Nyorrit inspizieren. Bereits vor Ende Februar 2024 konnten die letzten Baumaterialien zur Baustelle nach Nyorrit transportiert werden. Dank dem fleissigen Handwerkerteam von Emauel Amedeus kommen die Arbeiten zum Bau der neuen Zisterne in Nyorrit weiterhin sehr gut und planmässig voran. Wie bereits im Januar kommuniziert, wurde der Standort der Zisterne in Hinblick auf ein künftiges Wasserprojekt für Lemooti gewählt und nach erneuter Rücksprache mit der Simanjiro-Distriktregierung in seiner Ausführung leicht modifiziert. Die über 50.000 Liter fassende, gedeckte Zisterne wird als über 6 Meter hoher Wasserturm erstellt. Dadurch kann ein ausreichender Wasserdruck gewährleistet werden. Im Unterbau dieses Wasserturms befinden alle wichtigen Wasserleitungen. Diese Leitungen und Hahnen sind dort besser vor Manipulationen durch Unbefugte geschützt. Die Kosten für den Bau der Zisterne wird vollumfänglich von unserer Partnerorganisation Atlas Copco (water4all) übernommen. Alle weiteren Kosten für sämtliche zusätzliche Wasserleitungen zur etwas entfernt liegenden Viehtränke, ebenso alle zusätzlichen Leitungen und Anschlüsse, welche später für das Wasserprojekt in Lemooti (Fernleitung) genutzt werden sollen, werden von Verein ENKAINA-E-RETOTO (Budget 2024) übernommen. Zurzeit werden von unserem langjährigen Sanitär und Projektmitarbeiter Johnsoni Kilewo in Zusammenarbeit/Mithilfe durch die Massaibevölkerung letzte Wasserleitungen verlegt. Wenn weiterhin alles planmässig verläuft, sollte die neue Zisterne in Nyorrit bereits Anfang April in Betrieb genommen werden können…
Construction work on the new cistern in Nyorrit is progressing well
Recently, Lengai S. and Markus H. from ENKAINA-E-RETOTO were again able to inspect the construction work on the well in Nyorrit. The last building materials could be transported to the construction site in Nyorrit before the end of February 2024. Thanks to Emauel Amedeus’s hard-working team of craftsmen, the work on the construction of the new cistern in Nyorrit continues to progress very well and according to plan. As already communicated in January, the location of the cistern was chosen with a view to a future water project for Lemooti and its design was slightly modified after further consultation with the Simanjiro district government. The covered cistern, which holds over 50,000 liters, is built as a water tower over 6 meters high. This ensures sufficient water pressure. All important water pipes are located in the substructure of this water tower. These pipes and taps are better protected against manipulation by unauthorized persons. The costs of building the cistern will be fully covered by our partner organization Atlas Copco (water4all). All other costs for all additional water pipes to the cattle trough located some distance away, as well as all additional pipes and connections that will later be used for the water project in Lemooti (long-distance pipeline), will be borne by the ENKAINA-E-RETOTO association (budget 2024). Our long-time plumbing and project employee Johnsoni Kilewo is currently laying the last water pipes with the cooperation/assistance of the Maasai population. If everything continues to go according to plan, the new cistern in Nyorrit should be operational at the beginning of April…
