Together with the district government – focus on water pipeline to Lemooti

Bei den kürzlich stattgefundenen Kommunalwahlen in Tansania wurde unser langjähriger Projektkoordinator Lengai Salash Ngulik mit grosser Mehrheit zum Gemeindevorsitzenden von Loiborsoit wiedergewählt. ENKAINA-E-RETOTO gratuliert ihm herzlich zu diesem Erfolg und freut sich auf die weitere Zusammenarbeit.
Die dringenden Bedürfnisse der Bevölkerung auf dem grossen Gemeindegebiet von Loiborsoit, insbesondere im Bereich Wasserversorgung und Bildung, können dank der Wiederwahl Lengais weiterhin gezielt angegangen und auch die Entwicklung in den verschiedenen, teilweise weit vom Dorfzentrum entfernt liegenden Dorfteilen weiter vorangetrieben werden. Gemeinsam mit verschiedenen Akteuren/Projektpartnern vor Ort im Massailand, wird sich unser Verein weiterhin für die Umsetzung wichtiger gemeinnütziger Projekte einsetzen.
Wie an der Hauptversammlung 2024 kommunziert, liegt ein besonderes Augenmerk auf der Realisierung einer Fernleitung vom neu im Jahre 2023/24 ausgebauten Brunnen Nyorrit bis nach Lemooti. Aufgrund der geologischen Beschaffenheit des Gebiets ist es schwierig, in Lemooti eigene künstliche Brunnen zu bohren. Eine Fernleitung würde die Wasserversorgung für die dort lebende Massaibevölkerung erheblich verbessern.
Bevor konkrete Planungsschritte eingeleitet werden können, müssen Experten die Machbarkeit und die technischen Details des Projekts prüfen. Geplant ist, dass Techniker und Brunnenbauspezialisten der Simanjiro-Distriktregierung noch in diesem Jahr nach Nyorrit und Lemooti kommen, um eine erste Einschätzung vorzunehmen. Unser Vereinspräsident, Markus H., wird ebenfalls vor Ort sein, um die Zusammenarbeit zu unterstützen und zusammen mit Lengai weitere Gespräche mit potenziellen Projektpartnern zu führen. ENKAINA-E-RETOTO ist überzeugt, dass durch die enge Zusammenarbeit mit der lokalen Bevölkerung, der Distriktregierung und weiteren Partnern wichtige Fortschritte für die Entwicklung von Loiborsoit erzielt werden können. In the recent local elections in Tanzania, our long-standing project coordinator Lengai Salash Ngulik was re-elected as the community chairman of Loiborsoit with a large majority. ENKAINA-E-RETOTO warmly congratulates him on this success and looks forward to further cooperation.
Thanks to Lengai’s re-election, the urgent needs of the population in the large community area of Loiborsoit, especially in the areas of water supply and education, can continue to be addressed in a targeted manner and development in the various parts of the village, some of which are far from the village center, can also be further advanced. Together with various local actors/project partners in Maasailand, our association will continue to work towards the implementation of important charitable projects.
As communicated at the 2024 Annual General Meeting, special attention is being paid to the realization of a long-distance pipeline from the Nyorrit well, which will be newly expanded in 2023/24, to Lemooti. Due to the geological nature of the area, it is difficult to drill your own artificial wells in Lemooti. A long-distance pipeline would significantly improve the water supply for the Maasai population living there.
Before concrete planning steps can be initiated, experts must examine the feasibility and technical details of the project. It is planned that technicians and well construction specialists from the Simanjiro district government will come to Nyorrit and Lemooti this year to make an initial assessment. Our association president, Markus H., will also be on site to support the collaboration and, together with Lengai, hold further discussions with potential project partners. ENKAINA-E-RETOTO is convinced that important progress can be made for the development of Loiborsoit through close cooperation with the local population, the district government and other partners.
