Expansion of the water supply at the village well and Loiborsoit primary school

Der Dorfbrunnen Loiborsoit läuft efreulicherweise in einwandfreiem Zustand. Der Brunnen ist gut gewartet und versorgt bereits zahlreiche Menschen mit sauberem Wasser. In Anbetracht der Wasserförderleistung ist die ca. 20.000 Liter fassende, gemauerte und ungedeckte Zisterne (Wasserreservoir) relativ klein bemessen. Aus finanziellen Gründen möchte man die bestehende Zisterne jedoch zurzeit weder ersetzen noch vergrössern. Aufgrund von Priorisierung von Wasserprojekten durch die Dorfregierung, wird z.B. auch eine Installation zusätzlicher 10.000 Liter-Wassertanks voraussichtlich erst in einigen Jahren in Frage kommen.
An der nahegelegenen Primarschule Loiborsoit (ca. 400 – 500 m von Dorfbrunnen entfernt) existieren seit mehreren Jahren bereits insgesamt 6 Kunststoffwassertanks à 5.000 Liter, die zum Sammeln von Regenwasser zur Betreibung der Schulküche auf stabilen Zementpodesten installiert wurden. In der Trockenzeit stehen diese Wassertank jedoch mehrheitlich leer.
Um die Versorgungssicherheit weiter zu erhöhen, sollen nun Kunststoffleitungen verlegt werden, die den Dorfbrunnen mit den bestehenden Wassertanks an der Primarschule verbinden. So können auf kostengünstige Weise diese Tanks in Zukunft als zusätzliche Wasserspeicher dienen und auch zur Versorgung der Schulküche genutzt werden. An der Hauptversammlung 2024 wurde innerhalb der geplanten Wasserprojekte ein Betrag von rund CHF 5.000.- für dieses Wasserprojekt an Dorfbrunnen und Primarschule Loiborsoit eingeplant (Budget 2024/25).
Nach Absprache mit den Handwerkern (Sanitär) konnten nun kürzlich in der Stadt Arusha alle notwendigen Sanitämaterialien beschafft werden und sollten demnächst nach Loiborsoit transportiert werden. Sobald die kleine Regenzeit (November/Dezember) eingesetzt und der Dorfbrunnen weniger stark benutzt wird, sollten die Arbeiten am Brunnen starten können. Die Dorfgemeinschaft beteiligt sich aktiv an diesem Projekt, indem sie die Grabungsarbeiten für die Leitungen übernimmt. Expansion of the water supply at the village well and Loiborsoit primary school
The Loiborsoit village well is fortunately in perfect condition. The well is well maintained and already supplies numerous people with clean water. Considering the water output, the brick and uncovered cistern (water reservoir) with a capacity of around 20,000 litres is relatively small. For financial reasons, however, there is currently no desire to replace or enlarge the existing cistern. Due to the prioritisation of water projects by the village government, the installation of additional 10.000 litre water tanks will probably only be considered in a few years.
At the nearby Loiborsoit primary school (approx. 400 – 500 m from the village well), a total of 6 plastic water tanks of 5.000 litres each have been in place for several years. These were installed on stable cement platforms to collect rainwater for the school kitchen. In the dry season, however, these water tanks are mostly empty.
In order to further increase the security of supply, plastic pipes are now to be laid that connect the village well with the existing water tanks at the primary school. In this way, these tanks can serve as additional water reservoirs in the future and can also be used to supply the school kitchen in a cost-effective manner. At the 2024 Annual General Meeting, an amount of around CHF 5,000 was budgeted for this water project at the village well and primary school in Loiborsoit within the planned water projects (budget 2024/25).
After consultation with the craftsmen (sanitary), all the necessary sanitary materials were recently procured in the city of Arusha and should soon be transported to Loiborsoit. As soon as the small rainy season (November/December) begins and the village well is used less, work on the well should be able to start.
