Visit to the secondary school in Emboret

Für 4 von insgesamt 9 Patenmädchen, welche in diesem Jahr den Übertritt auf die Sekundarstufe schafften, konnten Anfang Januar 2023 entsprechende Ausbildungsplätze an der nahegelegenen Sekundarschule in Emboret gefunden werden. Weitere Patenmädchen werden dort auf der 2. bis 4 Sekundarstufe unterrichtet. Zurzeit weilt Tina K. im Rahmen eines privaten Urlaubs für einige Wochen im Massailand und wollte sich als langjährige Verantwortliche für das Patenschaftsprojekt ein aktuelles Bild über die Situation unserer Patenmädchen auf der Sekundarstufe verschaffen. Daher nutzte letzte Woche ein Besucherteam von ENKAINA-E-RETOTO mit Tina und Kiran K. sowie Markus H. und Kalanga L. die Gelegenheit die ca. 12 km von Loiborsoit entfernt gelegene Sekundarschule (inkl. Internat) in Emboret zu besuchen. Die Schulleitung, Lehrpersonen und vor allem auch unsere Patenmädchen haben sich sehr über diesen Besuch gefreut. Die 4 neuen Schülerinnen, welche seit dem 10. Januar in diesem Internat untergebracht sind, haben den Besuchern voller Stolz ihre neuen Unterkünfte an der Schule gezeigt. Auch insgesamt hatte sich die Sekundarschule Emboret in den vergangenen Jahren zu einer Vorzeigeschule entwickelt, in welcher über 600 Schüler auch von ausserhalb des Simanjiro-Distriktes untergebracht sind. Die Schule verfügt über 3 Gebäude mit Unterkünften für die Jungs bzw. 2 grössere Gebäude mit Unterkünften für die Mädchen. In diesen gross dimensionierten und luftig gebauten Unterkünften gibt es entlang eines Mittelkorridors weitere geräumige Abteile/Schlafräume mit je 2 Kajüten-Betten zur Unterbringung von je 3 bis 4 SchülerInnen. Auch die Toiletten und Waschräume erwecken für tansanische Verhältnisse einen insgesamt sehr sauberen Eindruck. Das Besucherteam durfte ebenfalls einen Blick in die Schulküche werfen, wo gerade in grossem Stil das Abendessen (Maisbrei und Bohnen) für die über 600 Schüler vorbereitet wurde.
Mit Start der Sekundarschulausbildung, mussten auch unsere Patenmädchen im Vorfeld alle erforderlichen privaten Utensilien für das Leben und die Unterbringung im Internat wie z.B. eine Matratze, Bettwäsche, Kochgeschirr, Wasch- und Hygieneartikel, eine Metallbox zur Aufbewahrung von Bücher, Schreib und weiteren Unterrichtsmaterialien sowie Schuluniform usw. besorgen. Bei diesen unerlässlichen Vorbereitungen und Einkäufen in der Stadt Arusha werden alle unsere Patenmädchen auf der Sekundarstufe vollumfänglich von Nenganjiang (Jenipher R. Mollel) unterstützt und betreut. Die Kosten für diese einmaligen Anschaffungen zum Start einer Sekundarschulausbildung, sind nur zu einem Teil durch die Patenschaft selber abgedeckt bzw. konnten im vergangenen Jahr nur dank grosszügig aufgerundeten Zahlungen sowie Quersubventionen aus allgemeinen Vereinsmitteln finanziert werden. Diese Diskrepanz war im letzten Jahr vor allem auf die stark gestiegenen Lebensmittelpreise in Tansania und somit auf die insgesamt höheren Kosten im Internat zurückzuführen. Wir sind zuversichtlich, dass wir auch in diesem Jahr erneut Mittel und Wege finden werden, unsere Patenmädchen bei ihrer Ausbildung zu unterstützen und dabei auf die geschätzte Hilfsbereitschaft langjähriger und neuer Projektunterstützenden sowie Vereinsmitglieder und Personen aus unserem Freundeskreis zählen dürfen…
Visit to the secondary school in Emboret
We were able to find vacancies for x of a total of x sponsored girls who made the transition to secondary school this year at the nearby secondary school in Emboret. More of our sponsored girls are taught there from 2nd to 4th level. Tina K. is currently staying in Maasailand for a few weeks as part of a private holiday and, as she has been responsible for the sponsorship project for many years, wanted to get an up-to-date picture of the situation of our sponsored girls at this secondary school. Therefore, last week a team of visitors from ENKAINA-E-RETOTO with Tina and Kiran K. as well as Markus H. and Kalanga L. took the opportunity to visit the secondary school (including boarding school) in Emboret, which is situated about 12 km from Loiborsoit. The school administration, teachers and above all our sponsored girls were very happy about this visit. The 4 new students, who have been accommodated in this boarding school since January 10th, proudly showed the visitors their new accommodation at the school. Overall, the Emboret secondary school has developed into a model school in recent years, housing over x students from outside the Simanjiro district. The school has 3 buildings with accommodation for the boys and x larger buildings with accommodation for the girls. In these spacious and airy accommodations, there are further spacious compartments/bedrooms along a central corridor, each with 2 bunk beds for accommodating x to x students. The toilets and washrooms also give an overall very clean impression by Tanzanian standards. The visiting team was also allowed to have a look at the school kitchen, where dinner (maize porridge and beans) was being prepared for the more than 600 students.
With the start of the secondary school education, our sponsored girls also had to get all the necessary private utensils for life and accommodation in the boarding school, such as a mattress, bed linen, cooking utensils, washing and hygiene items, a metal box for storing books, stationery and other teaching materials and get a school uniform. For these preparations and the shopping in the city of Arusha, all our sponsored girls at the secondary school are fully supported and cared for by Nenganjiang (Jenipher R. Mollel). The costs for this one-time purchase for the start of secondary school education are only partly covered by the sponsorship itself or could only be financed thanks to generously rounded up payments and cross-subsidies from general association funds last year. This discrepancy was mainly due to the sharp rise in food prices in Tanzania last year and thus to the overall higher costs in the boarding school. We are confident that we will find ways and means to continue the support of our sponsored girls also this year. For this we hope that we can count on our long-standing and new project supporters as well as our club members and people from our circle of friends…

Tuliweza kupata nafasi za kazi kwa x kati ya jumla ya wasichana waliofadhiliwa na x ambao walifanya mabadiliko hadi shule ya upili mwaka huu katika shule ya sekondari ya karibu huko Emboret. Na mwanzo wa elimu ya sekondari, wasichana wetu waliofadhiliwa pia walilazimika kupata vyombo vyote vya kibinafsi vya maisha na malazi katika shule ya bweni, kama godoro, kitani cha kitanda, vyombo vya kupikia, kuosha na kusafishia nguo, sanduku la chuma. kuhifadhi vitabu, vifaa vya kuandikia na vifaa vingine vya kufundishia na kupata sare ya shule. Tuna hakika kwamba tutapata njia na mbinu za kuendeleza usaidizi wa wasichana wetu waliofadhiliwa pia mwaka huu. Kwa hili tunatumai kuwa tunaweza kutegemea wafuasi wetu wa muda mrefu na wapya wa mradi na vile vile wanachama wa vilabu vyetu na watu kutoka kwa mzunguko wa marafiki zetu…
