More water tanks for school in Lemooti

Im Zusammenhang mit der Brunnensanierung in Nyorrit und den Baumaterialtransporten für andere Wasser- und Schulbauprojekte konnten bis Anfang Mai bereits einige 5.000 Liter-Wassertanks von der Stadt Arusha ins Massailand transportiert werden. Davon konnten 5 Wassertanks für die Schule in Lemooti verwendet werden. An dieser etwas abgelegenen Schule im Nordwestlichen Teil des Gemeindegebietes von Loiborsoit konnte Anfang Jahr mit finanzieller Beteiligung durch die Simanjiro-Distriktregierung ein neues, viertes Schulgebäude (mit 2 Klassenzimmern) fertig gebaut werden. Dank der erneuten Unterstützung durch das Unternehmen Atlas Copco aus Belgien konnten an diesem neuen Schulgebäude weitere Dachrinnen und auf geeigneten Zementpodesten insgesamt 3 Wassertanks installiert werden. Je ein weiterer Wassertank wurde an einem älteren Schulgebäude sowie an dem dritten, im Jahre 2022 fertig erstellten Schulgebäude installiert. Wegen den relativ grossen Dachflächen machte es durchwegs Sinn, dass an der Schule in Lemooti nun insgesamt 10 Wassertanks zum Sammeln von Regenwasser zur Betreibung der Schulküche installiert wurden. In Lemooti und Umgebung existieren wegen der Geologie und dem felsigen Untergrund bis jetzt keine Bohrlöcher und Brunnen. Daher wird die Installation weiterer Wassertanks für die Massaibevölkerung und für die nahe gelegene Buschklinik sehr nützlich sein. Wegen der Ende März eingesetzten Masika-Regenzeit waren erfreulicher Weise alle 5 bereits zuvor installierten Wassertanks randvoll mit Regenwasser gefüllt. Das gesammelte Regenwasser in den Tanks konnte zugleich auch für den Bau einer weiteren Lehrerunterkunft genutzt werden. Nun hoffen wir, dass bei neuen Niederschlägen im Mai/Juni bald noch weiteres Wasser in den neu installierten Tanks gesammelt werden kann…
More water tanks for school in Lemooti
In connection with the well renovation in Nyorrit and the transport of building materials for other water and school construction projects, several 5,000 liter water tanks were already transported from the city of Arusha to the Maasailand by the beginning of May. Of these, 5 water tanks could be used for the school in Lemooti. At the beginning of the year, a new, fourth school building (with 2 classrooms) was completed at this somewhat remote school in the north-western part of the Loiborsoit municipality with financial support from the Simanjiro district government. Thanks to the renewed support from the company Atlas Copco from Belgium, further gutters and a total of 3 water tanks on suitable cement platforms could be installed on this new school building. Another water tank was installed on an older school building and one more on the third school building, which was completed in 2022. Because of the relatively large roof areas, it made sense that a total of 10 water tanks are installed now at the school in Lemooti for collecting rainwater to run the school kitchen. In Lemooti and its surroundings there are no boreholes and wells because of the geology and the rocky subsoil. Therefore, the installation of more water tanks for the Maasai population and for the nearby bush clinic will be very useful. Because of the Masika rainy season that started at the end of March, all 5 previously installed water tanks were filled to the brim with rainwater. The rainwater collected in the tanks could also be used to build another teacher’s accommodation. Now we hope that with new precipitation in May/June, more water can be collected in the newly installed tanks soon…
Matanki zaidi ya maji kwa shule ya Lemooti
Kuhusiana na ukarabati wa kisima cha Nyorrit na usafirishaji wa vifaa vya ujenzi kwa ajili ya miradi mingine ya maji na ujenzi wa shule, matanki kadhaa ya maji ya lita 5,000 yalikuwa tayari yamesafirishwa kutoka jijini Arusha hadi Maasailand mwanzoni mwa Mei. Kati ya hayo, matangi 5 ya maji yangeweza kutumika kwa shule ya Lemooti. Mwanzoni mwa mwaka, jengo jipya la shule ya nne (yenye madarasa 2) lilikamilishwa katika shule hii ya mbali katika sehemu ya kaskazini-magharibi ya manispaa ya Loiborsoit kwa msaada wa kifedha kutoka kwa serikali ya wilaya ya Simanjiro. Shukrani kwa usaidizi mpya kutoka kwa kampuni ya Atlas Copco kutoka Ubelgiji, mifereji ya maji zaidi na jumla ya matanki 3 ya maji kwenye majukwaa ya saruji yanayofaa yanaweza kufinikishwa kwenye jengo hili jipya la shule. Tanki lingine la maji liliwekwa kwenye jengo la shule kongwe na moja zaidi kwenye jengo la shule ya tatu, ambalo lilikamilika mwaka 2022. Kwa sababu ya maeneo makubwa ya paa, ilileta maana kwamba jumla ya matanki 10 ya maji yamewekwa sasa katika shule hiyo. Lemooti kwa ajili ya kukusanya maji ya mvua kuendesha jiko la shule. Katika Lemooti na mazingira yake hakuna visima na visima kwa sababu ya jiolojia na ardhi ya chini ya mawe. Kwa hiyo, uwekaji wa matanki mengi ya maji kwa ajili ya wakazi wa Kimasai na kwa zahanati ya vichakani iliyo karibu itakuwa muhimu sana. Kwa sababu ya msimu wa mvua wa Masika ulioanza mwishoni mwa Machi, matanki yote 5 ya maji yaliyowekwa awali yalijazwa hadi ukingo na maji ya mvua.
