Planning new charitable projects

An der Hauptversammlung 2022 wurde uns erfreulicherweise erneut eine grössere Spende für gemeinnützige Projekte in Aussicht gestellt. Diese Spende durch einen Sponsor, welcher anonym bleiben möchte, haben wir zwischenzeitlich erhalten. Sie ermöglicht uns in der 2. Jahreshälfte 2022 bis gegen Ende 2023 auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Loiborsoit eine umfangreichere Planung und Realisierung gemeinnütziger Projekte. Hierbei unterstützen wir Schulen und wichtige Wasserprojekte (Sanierung von Brunnen sowie Installation von Wassertanks an Schulen). Wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle im Namen der Massai aus Loiborsoit ganz herzlich bedanken. Nach Rücksprache mit der Dorfregierung und Lengai unserem langjährigen Projektkoordinator und Dorfvorsitzenden, hat der Vereinsvorstand an einer Sitzung vom letzten Wochenende erneut eine Priorisierung von Projektthemen vorgenommen. Darauf basierend haben wir entschieden, dass die zuvor über Jahre etwas vernachlässigte Primarschule in Mbuko über die Fertigstellung des vierten Schulgebäudes hinaus zusätzlich bei der Renovierung aller alten Schulgebäude unterstützt wird. Ein Teil der Spende soll zudem zur Renovierung und zum Ausbau der wichtigen Brunnen in Nyorrit oder in Orkitejo verwendet werden. An weiteren Schulen oder gemeinnützige Gebäuden in Loiborsoit wollen wir Wassertanks zum Sammeln von Regenwasser installieren. Ausserdem möchten wir die neue VETA-Handwerkschule in Loiborsoit bei der Schaffung von Ausbildungsplätzen unterstützen. Einen ersten Entwurf zur Projektkonzeption findet man hier als PDF-Datei. Die Frauenprojekte möchten wir natürlich nicht vergessen und daher weiterhin aus allgemeinen Vereinsmitteln oder ggf. durch gezielte Spendenaktionen (Crowdfunding) unterstützen. Planning new charitable projects
Fortunately, at the 2022 Annual General Meeting, we were again promised a larger donation for charitable projects. In the meantime, we have received this donation from a sponsor who wishes to remain anonymous. It will enable us to plan and implement charitable projects in the Loiborsoit municipality from the second half of 2022 until the end of 2023. We will support schools and important water projects (renovation of wells and installation of water tanks in schools). We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you on behalf of the Maasai from Loiborsoit. After consultation with the village government and Lengai, our long-standing project coordinator and village chairman, the board of the association prioritized project topics at a meeting last weekend. Based on this, we decided that the primary school in Mbuko, which had been somewhat neglected for years, would be supported in the renovation of all old school buildings. Part of the donation will be used to renovate and expand the important wells in Nyorrit or Orkitejo. We want to install water tanks to collect rainwater at other schools or non-profit buildings in Loiborsoit. We would also like to support the new VETA craft school in Loiborsoit in creating training positions. A first draft of the project concept can be found here as a PDF file. Of course, we don’t want to forget the women’s projects and therefore continue to support them with general association funds or through targeted fundraising campaigns (crowdfunding). Kupanga miradi mipya ya hisani
Kwa bahati nzuri, katika Mkutano Mkuu wa Mwaka wa 2022, tuliahidiwa tena mchango mkubwa zaidi kwa miradi ya hisani. Kwa sasa, tumepokea mchango huu kutoka kwa mfadhili ambaye hataki kutajwa jina. Itatuwezesha kupanga na kutekeleza miradi ya hisani katika manispaa ya Loiborsoit kuanzia nusu mwaka wa 2022 hadi mwisho wa 2023. Tutasaidia shule na miradi muhimu ya maji (ukarabati wa visima na uwekaji wa matangi ya maji shuleni). Tunapenda kuchukua fursa hii kusema asante sana kwa niaba ya Wamasai kutoka Loiborsoit. Baada ya kushauriana na serikali ya kijiji na Lengai, mratibu wetu wa muda mrefu wa mradi na mwenyekiti wa kijiji, bodi ya chama ilitoa kipaumbele mada za mradi katika mkutano mwishoni mwa juma lililopita. Kwa kuzingatia hili, tuliamua kwamba shule ya msingi ya Mbuko, ambayo ilikuwa imesahaulika kwa miaka mingi, ingesaidiwa katika ukarabati wa majengo yote ya shule kongwe. Sehemu ya mchango huo itatumika kukarabati na kupanua visima muhimu vya Nyorrit au Orkitejo. Tunataka kufunga matangi ya maji ili kukusanya maji ya mvua katika shule nyingine au majengo yasiyo ya faida huko Loiborsoit.
